Unmanned & Unlimited

The 27th Annual Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) Pathfinder Chapter symposium is slated to be the best event ever. The bar was set high in 2015 when the participation exceeded any other year in the event’s history. The increase included exhibitors, participants and speakers, as well as individuals wanting to see what the unmanned community is all about. More and more people are interested in learning about unmanned systems given the huge increased presence within everyday life.

2015 showcased several unique presentations which varied from unmanned farm equipment, robotic surgery to our traditional Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Pathfinder in conjunction with the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Associations (AFCEA) Huntsville Chapter held a mini-event last fall that included a classified session, which proved to be very successful.

The 2016 Pathfinder Event is scheduled for Tuesday thru Thursday, August 30-September 1, 2016. This 3 day event will be comprised of a classified day, an Army UAS day, and a State of AL day.

  • Day 1, Tuesday, August 30, 2016 – The first day will be a classified day brought to you by Pathfinder and AFCEA Huntsville. Due to the classified nature of these presentations, this event will be held at the Lockheed Martin Corporation Space Facility on Bradford Drive. The topics will include Counter UAS, UAS threats, Electronic Weapons, UAS Protection, Ground Systems, and UAS Weaponization.
  • Day 2, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 – This day, held at the Von Braun Center (VBC), will be comprised of sessions from the US Army’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems Project Management Office to explain the future direction and potential business opportunities, other Redstone Arsenal Leadership personnel regarding their initiatives with Unmanned Systems, and technical presentations from companies and Government agencies across the country discussing current and future unmanned technologies.
  • Day 3, Thursday, September 1, 2016 – The last day of the conference, also at VBC, is a brand new initiative for this event. The State of Alabama has teamed up with Pathfinder to present the state initiatives in Unmanned Systems. This will include plans for educating the populace, policy initiatives, unmanned operations such as precision agriculture and powerline surveys, plus speakers from the law enforcement and insurance industries within the state.

Pathfinder has always been a big supporter of education and will use the proceeds of this event for scholarships and robotics clubs across north Alabama and southern Tennessee. Many of the prior robotics clubs will be showcasing their unmanned projects in the exhibit hall. The students have been preparing all year for this event and are enthusiastic to show off their efforts. Please join us for this year’s exciting and informative event. There are many ways to participate – as an attendee, exhibitor or sponsor.

State, Federal (Military and Civilian), and Educational (including students) personnel will be allowed to participate at NO FEE.

Seating is limited and you must register to attend.
